Welcome to the Real Film Festival
26-28 October 2018
Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens
The Real Film Festival (RFF) Newcastle 2018 will educate and inspire filmmakers across all ages and skill levels and link like-minded people through their love of independent film and the art of telling true stories.
Bringing together a range of documentaries and independent short and feature-length films, all based on real events, the RFF enters its seventh year in 2018.
The three-day festival program is comprised of hands-on workshops, short film competitions and screenings, and can be best understood by its philosophy of watch, learn, create and connect.
If you’d like the opportunity to share your true story on the big screen, head to this page to enter your film before September 28, 2018.
We look forward to seeing you at the Real Film Festival Newcastle 2018!
An initiative of Screen Hunter, The Real Film Festival (RFF) was first held in Newcastle in 2012, to foster and develop the art of telling true stories through film.
As the festival enters its seventh year, join us from 26 – 28 October 2018 for our most jam-packed program yet, featuring film screenings, short film competitions, open air cinema, industry development workshops and networking events.
